NUNCHI

Internship | Print | Animation | SoMe | UX/UI 2023

Background: After almost two decades of experience in the advertising industry, Marcus Hessel and Fredrik Malmborg founded Nunchi in 2016. Nunchi is a Gothenburg-based design agency with a close-knit team of 10 talented people (although none of them are originally from Gothenburg). They work with a diverse range of clients, including Subway, Ale El, Fabric Forest, European Furniture Group, TST Sweden, and many others.

10 Weeks

In the fall of 2023, during my time at IP Grafisk Produktion & Form at YRGO, I started my first internship. I was offered a spot at Nunchi in Gothenburg, where I worked closely with a team of 10, including copywriters, art directors, and graphic designers. During my 10 week internship at Nunchi, I held the role of a Graphic Designer and got to work with a wide variety of clients.

Meet the Nunchies

Though I primarily worked on projects for Nunchi's clients, I also created some content for Nunchi themselves. Since I joined the team during the spooky season, I got to make a Halloween post for their social media. Using generative AI, my goal was to transform the Nunchi team into zombies. However, as you can probably see from the second image below, the result from the generative AI was less than perfect, so I had to get creative. With all 11 zombies done, I wrapped up the project in After Effects.

Internship Assignments Overview

During my time at Nunchi, I had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, spanning from larger companies like Subway to smaller ones such as Ale El. My assignments were quite varied, including tasks such as designing printed posters and advertisements, making content for social media, producing animated videos, and creating window foiling. Below, you can get an insight into some of the work I did at Nunchi.
